The sentence for Jojo John, of Nyack, begins Tuesday. John was driving a boat in July 2013 when it hit a stationary barge involved in the Tappan Zee Bridge construction. The impact threw Lindsey Stewart and Mark Lennon overboard; both were killed.
John had been charged with 18 counts, including operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in exchange for less jail time. In court Tuesday, he tearfully turned to the victims' families and expressed remorse.
