Chelsea - Schalke Betting Preview: Expect the rampant Blues to continue their great form

Chelsea - Schalke Betting Preview: Expect the rampant Blues to continue their great formJose Mourinho looks to continue his side’s 100 per cent winning start to the season as they open their Champions League account against a Knappen team struggling for form
Chelsea host Schalke a year since the two sides met in the group stages of last season's Champions League. The Blues dominated both matches, winning 3-0 home and away.Jens Keller's outfit finished as the best of the rest in the Bundesliga last season behind Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, but have struggled to re-create that form in the league in the new campaign, losing two and drawing one of their three games in the German top flight so far.
William Hill price them at 8/1 (9.00) to pick up their first win of the season against Chelsea on Wednesday.

The Blues, on the other hand, have looked sublime in the early stages of the season and are the early pace-setters at the top of the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho was extremely busy in the transfer window, and purchases such as Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa are already starting to pay back their transfer fees with brilliant performances.

The latter has continued where he left off at Atletico Madrid, netting seven goals in his first four Chelsea matches and Mourinho's men are now odds on to win the Premier League in places.

William Hill price the Blues at 4/11 (1.36) to get their European campaign off to a winning start, with the same firm pricing the Costa wincast at 5/4 (2.20).
Considering Costa has scored in all his appearances so far this season for the Blues, this is a tempting price with William Hill.

Despite not yet notching a win this season, Schalke did draw at home to Bayern Munich in the league 1-1, which has been the only positive to take from their campaign so far. William Hill price the draw at 7/2 (4.50).

With the Blues in sensational form, it's tough to see how Schalke can stand in their way in the opening Champions League match and punters could profit from backing the English side to continue their impressive form in front of goal.

The Chelsea -1 handicap bet at 10/11 (1.91) stands out with William Hill. This would have landed in both head-to-head fixtures last season, as well as in all four of Chelsea's matches so far this season, which have seen them score 15 goals.
