I Know What You Did Last Summer remake on its way

lastsummerHorror fans may remember the not too horrific I Know What You Did Last Summer, back in 1997 that focused on a group of teenagers that are stalked by a mysterious hooded figure that kills by using a fisherman’s hook. Well it appears the movie is being rebooted.

The word is Sony is planning a bit of a low budget remake of the slasher horror flick I Know What You Did Last Summer, which grossed an impressive 125 million dollars globally back in its day.
According to a report by Deadline, the director of Oculus, Mike Flanagan has been brought in to pen the remake along with Jeff Howard, whilst the producer of the original movie, Neal Moritz will again produce. However, it is unclear at this time whether Flanagan will take up directorial duties on this one.
The original I Know What You Did Last Summer became a hit and gave birth to a couple of sequels, with each story telling basically the same tale of stalking by a mysterious killer that in the first movie was run over by the teens in their car, and left for dead during a night out drinking.
Whether the remake will stick to the same storyline, as the other three is unclear at this time, but the word is the project is high priority at Sony, who are looking to release the remake sometime in 2016…more as and when we hear.
